Mass Timber Discussion Wraps up in Columbia

ULI South Carolina previously hosted events on mass timber and its impact on future development in Greenville last fall, and Charleston in the spring. The three city tour wrapped up in Columbia on June 14.  Graham Montgomery and David Impson of Brittt, Peters & Associates, Charles Starck of Lendlease, and Bruce Lindsey of Woodworks/Wood Products Council shared examples, case studies and compelling reasons for utilizing CLT in construction. WLI Prologis Fall Meeting Scholarship Application Period Open

Ten scholarships are awarded to female applicants who have seven or more years in the industry and have taken leadership roles in their District Council or at the national level. The scholarship covers expenses and registration to the Fall Meeting. Recipients are assigned a mentor active with WLI who takes the winner to her Product Council events at the meeting. CARTA “Dump The Pump Day 2018” Set for June 21

  On Thursday, June 21, The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is leading local efforts to encourage alternative travel methods on National Dump the Pump Day. CARTA has set a goal to set a single-day ridership record of more than 20,000. Whether it’s an Express bus, the HOP, DASH or a local route, consider hopping on and dumping the pump for a day.
