Apply Now for a Council

Applications are now being accepted for the Regional Initiative Councils.  Together, ULI Charlotte, South Carolina and Triangle offer Regional Initiative Councils (RICs). Modeled after national product councils, the mission of the regional council program is to convene ULI members (throughout North and South Carolina) to promote learning, build District Council leadership, share knowledge and expertise and encourage regional collaboration. UrbanPlan Volunteer Training Held September 27

Several ULI SC members joined at the College of Charleston for the District’ first UrbanPlan training session. Led by Betsy del Monte, FAIA, LEED BD+C, 4 teams went through the same planning process as the students, albeit in a condensed, one-day session. Volunteers whole-heartedly embraced their roles of planner, city liaison, neighborhood liaison, marketing director or financial analyst. The day ended with a City Council hearing for the 5.5-block Elmwood District Redevelopment Project.
