Members Only: Case Study & Tour of the new Upstate VA Outpatient Clinic
The new $30 million, 77,000 square foot Upstate Veterans Administration Out Patient Clinic (VA OPC), will be opening this summer. The VA OPC will be over 20,000 square feet larger than the current facility located on Augusta Road, and will be available to over 17,000 local veterans. The building is designed to be certified as LEED Silver, however, they are currently tracking LEED gold.
In the past, it has been common for Upstate veterans to travel to Columbia for certain treatments due to long local wait times. Increasingly, larger numbers of veterans are requiring ongoing treatment for head injuries to post-traumatic stress disorder. With the increased facility size and additional staff, the Upstate VA OPC will provide state of the art care in a convenient location. The facility will include naturally lit sitting areas, along with a landscaped green space.
Join us as Rich Boggan with the Veteran Affairs leads us on a tour of the new facility. We will also hear from the developer, Hughes Development Corporation; Architect, DesignStrategies; and the Contractor Brasfield & Gorrie. We will look at the process of bidding on a government contracted building as well as answer any specific questions about the structure.
This event is FREE and open to MEMBERS ONLY.
