About the ULI Capital Markets Conference
The ULI South Carolina Capital Markets Conference an annual gathering of high-level real estate industry executives. Now in its 13th year, the conference has grown into an annual tradition for many members of the southeastern capital markets community. The audience includes real estate owners, land developers, lenders, and investors who gather year after year to take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity to meet and interact with peers, hear from world-class speakers, and gain insights into the most pressing issues ahead.

Conference Schedule
The conference begins Tuesday, December 7 with a networking lunch and adjourns Wednesday, December 8 at noon. All meetings will take place at The Sanctuary, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, One Sanctuary Beach Drive, Kiawah Island, SC 29455.

- Opening Session with KC Conway Known as the “Red Shoe Economist,” KC was last with us in November 2019—before the entire world changed! We’re excited to hear KC’s unique take on what those changes mean for real estate and what macro trends he is watching and why.
- Fireside Chat with Sheila Johnson We are thrilled to announce this year’s Fireside Chat will feature a conversation with Sheila Johnson, CEO, Salamander Hotels & Resorts and Chris Randolph, South Street Partners. Ms. Johnson is a renowned entrepreneur, business leader and co-founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET). Chris Randolph has been with South Street since its inception in 2009 and is primarily focused on the firm’s acquisitions and capital markets businesses.
- One-on-One Conversation with SC Ports Authority CEO, Jim Newsome During his tenure as CEO
and president of the South Carolina Ports Authority, Jim Newsome has successfully cultivated a highly competitive, world-class port that handles roughly $75 billion of commerce a year. COVID Protocols – NOTICE OF VACCINE REQUIREMENT
In order to gather safely, we will require that all conference attendees be fully vaccinated. We believe this step will make the event safer for everyone and will help us all feel more comfortable and confident during the meeting. This follows protocol for the ULI Fall Meeting in Chicago. A vaccine requirement is also now standard protocol for all in-person committee meetings and events in both ULI Charlotte and Triangle.

To manage the vaccination requirement, we will be using a market-leading app used by many large venues and airports, which will enable all attendees to upload their proof of vaccination. We used this app recently at the ULI Carolinas Regional Council Meetings in Asheville in August with great success.
