Upstate members and guest gathered on August 16 for a discussion of Westone. Westone is an adaptive reuse of the first commercial building (Star Cleaners & Dyers, circa 1920s) on West Stone Avenue that is quickly becoming a new food & beverage hub on the edge of Downtown Greenville, featuring tenants such as Liability Brewing Co., Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Coffee Underground, World Piece, Cache & Company, V’s Barbershop and 9Round Fitness.
We heard from developers Michael Fletcher (Fletcher Development, LLC) and Pete Brett (Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine) about the process and challenges associated with this infill redevelopment project. While the project was not without its challenges, Michael and Pete shared their approach of keeping it authentic, exploring creative approaches to parking and zoning, working with the city to find solutions and keeping the neighbors informed, all resulting in a well-executed neighborhood gathering space.
Thank you to our sponsors Westone Development, LLC and Creative Builders, Inc., and our host, Liability Brewing Co.
