Help ULI South Carolina welcome the newest Management Committee Members
June 28, 2021
ULI South Carolina hosted the ULI SC The Color of Law Book Club/Discussion Group in June. A four-part series, the discussions focused on particular chapters of the book, and brought together community members from across the state and the southeast via Zoom. Using breakout rooms, attendees discussed topics such as redlining and other federal, state, and local policy-imposed residential segregation. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for these robust and thought-provoking conversations.
The book club was offered as an extension of the May 13 virtual event hosted by Impact Greenville, Racial Justice and The Color of Law, featuring author Richard Rothstein. Mr. Rothstein shared highlights from his nationally acclaimed book The Color of Law, which details how U.S. governments in the twentieth century deliberately imposed racial segregation on metropolitan areas nationwide. The presentation concluded with Q&A facilitated by Rev. Stacey D. Mills, Pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church and Executive Director of USC Upstate Greenville Campus.
