ULI South Carolina Midlands Project Spotlight: Campus Village
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT
Located in the south region of campus, Campus Village is comprised of four state-of-the-art buildings housing a total of 1,800 student residents. With on-site dining, retail, and gathering spaces, Campus Village provides students with a wide range of features and amenities designed to build strong communities by fostering shared academic and social development. It’s also part of the university’s commitment to a world-class student experience.
USC partnered with Charleston-based Greystar,a globally renowned real estate and development company and one of the nation’s largest developers of collegiate properties to develop the $240 million project. Columbia-based Contract Construction and Atlanta-based Juneau Construction oversaw project construction, which was completed on time and on budget despite challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. Boudreaux, based in Columbia, and WDG, a national leader in student housing, led the architectural design and planning for Campus Village.
The afternoon will begin with a tour and talk on Campus Village – starting at the Dining Hall in Building One, followed by Building Two which includes Starbucks, Gamecock General, and The Makers Space, with the event wrapping up with a look at the common areas in Building Four and Q&A in the on-site classroom. All the while talking about the important placemaking principles that went into creating this live-learn community - the largest construction project in the university’s 222-year history.
