Join ULI South Carolina's Coastal community for the next installment of the Development 101 Series: What's Up with Workforce?
South Carolina and the lowcountry are experiencing low unemployment (3% SC and 2.5% Charleston MSA). But as the area has grown discussions have shifted from a focus on economic development to workforce development, attraction and retention. The low unemployment rate combined with frequent corporate expansion and relocation announcements made it increasingly evident the region could only grow as quickly as the workforce could fill awaiting employment opportunities.
We'll hear from regional leaders focused on strategic initiatives and programs for developing the lowcountry's workforce, as well as those investing, or looking to invest, in workforce and attainable housing.
